Boxing great Muhammad Ali passed away.
May he rest in peace.
PS: I took Rajesh's suggestion and here are a few points I know of Mr. Ali:
Born Cassius Clay and converted to Islam.
3 times heavyweight champion of the world.
Eloquent, Colorful, Controversial and Brilliant.
He was known as “The Greatest”.
Refused induction into the U.S. Army because he stated he was a conscientious objector.
Had Parkinson’s disease due to repeated blows to his head.
He is famous for his quotes. The following 3 are my personal favorites:
He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.
I don't have to be what you want me to be.
If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize.
Yes, RIP. I ought to read a small bio/highlights of his life. You could have included a few points that you know here.

Thanks for your comments Rajesh. I took your suggestion and added a few things I know of Mr. Ali.
DeleteThanks for the info. Wasn't he who bit someone's ears or was that somebody else?

Thanks for your comments Rajesh. It was not Mr. Ali. He will not do such indecent things. It was Mike Tyson who bit Evander Holyfield's ear.
Delete“They must all fall…in the round I call…”
ReplyDelete“Float like a butterfly…and sting like a bee…”
He is indeed the greatest of all time.
For GOD’s sake…he was past his prime when he knocked me out.
And I was in my prime! I was hailed as the most ferocious boxer ever. 40 wins / no losses…and 37 wins by knocking the other guy out.
Then Ali walks in and handles me with no problem.
Simply the best. No doubt! RIP
Regards,
George Foreman

ReplyDeleteIf you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize.....Maybe this attitude took him to this great height. He was always praising himself. Well, he was the 'greatest'! RIP
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sandhya. Ali was a master of self promotion.
DeleteIndeed! Greatest. It was sad to see him suffer from Parkinson's.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Insignia. Yea, Parkinson's decease is very painful.
DeleteRIP. I hardly know much about his life. If I remember correctly, there is a hollywood movie based on him (which I have not seen).
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Ash. Yes, the name of the movie is Ali. Produced in 2001, starring Will Smith and Jamie Foxx.
