Economy-minus

In the airline industry there was only one class to start with. It was a regular class. Then came two. Economy and Executive. Then came three. Economy, Business, First Class. Then they added one more. Premium Economy. Now they are thinking of adding one more class. Economy-minus. I do not know the facilities available in that class. But they are thinking on the following lines:

 

Smallest seats.

No Itinerary change or refunds.

No free carry-on bag.

Meals, snacks, soda, water, and entertainment are extra.

No advance seat assignment.

 

Since my job is to give unsolicited advice to the airlines, here are my suggestions:

 

To get into the plane, you have to climb a rope hung from the back door.

 

Pay for the use of toilets.

 

If you don’t want to use toilet, you can buy a diaper at a discount. No you cannot bring your own diaper from home. At the end of the flight you have to pay for disposal. Disposing solid waste will cost more than the liquid.

 

Rent a chair to sit in the plane. No you cannot bring your own chair.

 

If you want to sleep on the floor, that will be extra.

 

Discount if you are a standing passenger holding on to the upper rails.

 

Seat belts will cost extra. But it is mandatory.

 

Price will be based on the weight of the passenger.

 

Next, we are thinking of cargo class. Put the passengers in the cargo area.

 

You have to pay extra for us to rip your baggage handle.

 

Want to sit together with your family/friends, pay extra. (We have hired additional staff to look into family travel and group travel and made sure they are allotted seats in different rows.) (You see, we are creating job opportunities for useless undergraduates.)

 

And, lastly but not the leastly, pay extra to recline your seat back. The exact fee depends upon how much recline degree you want. Assuming a 5 degree reclining in an economy seat, you will have to pay $5 for each degree to a total of $25 for a full 5 degree reclining. Each plane will have a Reclining Engineer to measure the angle and charge the passenger. (You see, we are creating job opportunities for engineering undergraduates.)

Boxing great Muhammad Ali passed away.

May he rest in peace.

Eloquent, Colorful, Controversial and Brilliant.

He was known as “The Greatest”.

Refused induction into the U.S. Army because he stated he was a conscientious objector.

Had Parkinson’s disease due to repeated blows to his head.

He is famous for his quotes. The following 3 are my personal favorites:

Rich People

We all have heard about how rich people live their lives. It is on both extremes. For Example:

Rich people live in a multi million dollar mansions with all amenities and big show off like private planes, private screening room at their mansion, etc. 

On the other hand, some rich people live a simple life. Billionaire Warren Buffett still lives in the home he bought in 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. 

There are other crazy things rich people do. For example: 

Professional Basket Ball Star DeShawn Stevenson has installed an ATM machine in his kitchen so he does not have to drive to a nearby ATM machine. (He also charges $4.50 transaction fee if his friends want to use that machine.) 

One rich guy has built an emergency room in his home to avoid the lines in the hospital. 

Recently I read an article, rich Indians who get married, take a photographer with them when they go for their honeymoon. How great it is. Three is Company. Looks like a one upmanship among the rich people. 

I have a few questions. Will the honeymoon album contain photos of outdoor shooting only or will it include indoor shooting also? Will they take with them only a photographer or will they take makeup artists and stylists also? If they end up in a divorce, will they engage a professional photographer for their divorce party? 

I have a feeling that people who take a professional photographer with them on their honeymoon are “new” money. “Old” money may not do this. (New money means people who became rich recently and old money means people who are rich for generations.) 

I found out there are honeymoon photographers available locally in romantic locations like Paris and Hawaii. Newly married can use these photographers if they are not that much filthy rich.
