Brittany Murphy, actress, 32, died this morning of cardiac arrest in Los Angeles. Very sad.
She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents divorced when she was only 2 years old. Her mother raised her in Edison, New Jersey. Brittany had a very poor and sad childhood. Her mom struggled financially.
She wrote an article in the Glamour magazine. In that, she stated they were forced to eat spaghetti night after night and some nights even that was not there. She had to beg her mother to buy clothes for her at Kmart. In addition, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and survived a double mastectomy.
Brittany got her first job in Hollywood at the age 14. She starred as Brenda Drexell in the series Drexell’s Class. She acted in movies like “Clueless,” “8 Miles,” “Just Married,” “Girl, Interrupted,” “Sin City,” and “Riding in Cars with Boys,” among others. In addition, she acted in many television series. She has also given voice in many animated films.
Brittany married Screen Writer Simon Monjack in May 2007.
Such a talent is gone at this young age.
May her soul rest in peace.

Haven't heard of her. Poor thing. May her soul rest in peace
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Insignia. How fate plays! She died at a very young age (32) when she is on her way to be a well known name in the universe.
ReplyDeleteyeah read that on twitter. really sad. so young and quite talented too.
ReplyDeleteoh that's so sad...may her soul Rest in Peace..
ReplyDeleteTerrible to hear. Can't believe that these days it is possible for young ppl to succumb to cardiac arrest :-(
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen many of her movies though ; I know she was a voice in 'Happy Feet', which other animated film?
Thanks for your comments Shruthi. She was very talented.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Neha. It is really very sad.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your commens lostworld. It is difficult to imagine people will have cardiac arrest at the age of 32.
ReplyDeleteIn my post, I should have written "many animated characters" instead of "many animated films". The most popular was her voice for Luanne Platter in the animated series "King of the Hill" in more than 200 episodes.
You know that is just a damn shame!
ReplyDeleteI always liked her.
I remember her from the early days in "Clueless" – she had a couple of catchy one liners in that movie that I can still remember (even though Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash were the main reasons people went to go see that movie).
But I thought her role in “The Dead Girl” was awesome. That role hasn’t been mentioned by a lot of people because that movie is not well known.
The Dead Girl is an independent film (at least it looks that way), that is very dark, and takes a while for the story to get going – on the surface it’s not my kind of movie but I happened to watch it anyway.
She showed some real diversified talent in that movie – a single mother who happens to be a prostitute.
She was the only star in that movie, she was also the main character, the whole story revolved around her, and her acting performance carried that movie.
Did I mention that she was only in the movie for 10 freaking minutes…that too at the very end!
It was like watching Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now – he’s the star, he got top billing, the story revolved around his character, and he was only in the movie for the last 10 minutes or so.
It takes a special kind of talent to pull that off.
So very sad to be gone so young.
Thanks for your comments The Cagey Bee. You have given Brittany a more fitting praise than me. I salute you.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad when talented people are stopped in their journey of life before they can find perfection in what they have set out to do. It also teaches us about the importance of making the best of the time we have now.
ReplyDeleteMay the lady's soul rest in everlasting peace.
Thanks for your comments Sanand. You have said it very well.
ReplyDeleteIt's really sad. I loved her in Clueless.
ReplyDeleteRIP Brittany
