A world renowned chef and multi millionaire (from UK), says he gives limited
weekly allowance to his kids. They have
to take care of their expenses including their jeans, gym fees, and their own
gym trainer fees from among that allowance.
Poor
kids.
I
have already written long time ago about my one-time colleague, Paige P.
Her
dad was a billionaire. I don’t know why she came to work in our company. May be
the dad wanted her to get experience from a different industry. I never asked her.
She
was a nice girl. We used to go for lunch
all the time. Once she said she did
something wrong when she was a teenager.
Her dad punished her for that. I
asked her what was the punishment.
I
was not allowed to drive my BMW for a week.
You
poor girl. What did you do then? Take a
taxi or go by bus?
No. I drove my Mercedes Benz.
Look
at these poor kids. Life is unfair.
PS:
Paige anecdote is real. Not an imagination.
Hmmmm ..... i have no idea how to respond to this as one mind agrees with you that its silly to even mention such punishments when there are genuine sufferings in the world
ReplyDeleteBut other thought process is what if status symbol creates issue for you in terms of peer pressure or social status if that's what you are used to and also what if the rich kids get love from family only by materialistic things and when that's taken away it's like love is taken away
Thanks for your comments Dee. Yes, it is silly to even mention such "punishments".
DeleteBut she is made to work full time, not in her dad's office but yours. If she is born a billionaire's daughter, is it her fault?:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sandhya. I was just pointing out the slap on the wrist punishments/restrictions rich kids get.
DeleteLucky her .. I wish I had a billionaire parents ..
ReplyDeleteBikram's
Thanks for your comments Bikram. Yes, she is very lucky. Also, a very nice person. Not stuck up at all.
DeleteI hate spoiled rich kids!
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Paris Hilton
Thanks for your comments Paris. I understand you poor baby. You are only a heiress to the Hilton Hotel Empire. Who can better flaunt a charmed lifestyle than you?
DeleteThought provoking.
ReplyDeleteIn the last seven or eight decades, the world, the concepts and values have undergone a sea change.
We cannot compare the present with old yardsticks or practices.
Thanks for your comments Mr. KP. You are absolutely correct.
DeleteThe resources parents have, and the values they wish to impart seem different things. But they are very connected. That said, thinking about what kind of a father I will be sometimes scares the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Karunesh. Don't be scared. Every individual is different. I am sure you will be a great father.
DeleteI would say poor dad !
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Shilpa. HaHaHa. I like this.
DeleteVadiya kuduthu adi vangara dad ;)
DeleteThanks Shilpa. Correct.
DeleteI read about the celebrity chef and his parenting style. If it works for them that way, then goody good!
ReplyDeleteI think this just shows that no matter how much money you have, it is not guaranteed that you will be happy. So be content with what you have and enjoy life :D
ReplyDeletePoor daughter, very harsh punishment!.&
