Don’t Cry For Me, Chennai

Don’t cry for me, Chennai
The truth is I never left you in my heart
Now it is time to say
Do Svidaniya

We may have settled in California
Our kids born and brought up there
Owning a home in the Bay Area
So many friends and family there

Temporary residence in Chennai
The past six months
Many things I will miss
A few things I won’t

OD’d on cricket in TV
OD’d on several Indian cuisines
OD’d on travel within India
OD’d on Tamil movies in theaters

OD’d on Obama
OD’d on all his drama
OD’d on Modi Kurta
OD’d on Thodi Raaga

Experienced the Chennai weather
All the 3 beautiful seasons
Hot, Hottest, and
Murder

Don’t cry for me, Chennai
The truth is I never left you in my heart
Now it is time to say
Do Svidaniya

PS: Leaving for California on March 1.

PPS: The title of this post is inspired from the song “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina”.

  4. I am glad you had some really good times in Chennai.
By the way things are going (very slow development)soon many would be forced to leave India.
You can consider yourself lucky you can come and go, and enjoy the good things of both countries

  9. That Gov for your comments. I know the Federal and State income tax deadline is on April 15. That is why I am rushing back to pay my dues.

  15. Good to know that you enjoyed many things here, in Chennai. With all the draw backs our place is our place. Do you like this song? I like, though I don't like the actor!

  20. Tch,tch...our loss and neighbours pride!
6 months is a pretty long time. A city invariably gets under one's skin in such a period. Glad you ODed on quite many objects.

P.S- I loved the nasty farewell and jovial welcome back from both Mayors!
P.P.S- Can you edit so we see your reply below the corresponding comment? It makes the give& take more fun to read.

BTW, I detected a noticeable ease in posting comments on your blog now. Thanks for making it smoother.
