Quote Challenge Post #2

This is a challenge post. According to this challenge:

Post one of your favorite quotes (different quote on each day) on three consecutive days. The quote can be from your favorite book, author, or your own.

Nominate 3 bloggers to challenge them.

Thank the blogger, who nominated you.

I am tagged by our blogger friend Ph_, owner of the blog, Cascading Thoughts. Thanks a lot Ph_ for tagging me.

Here is my second quote:

"You shouldn't commit suicide because you're afraid of death.”

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to the people of Greece, urging them to vote “yes” on the upcoming referendum on Greece debt crises.

I am not nominating anyone.

PS: I am not posting on consecutive days.

  1. Interesting quote, but I don't get the context. What referendum is it -- I mean, say yes to what?

    1. Thanks for your comments Rajesh. Here is the situation.

Greece owes a lot of money to EU (European Union), IMF (International Monetary Fud), and ECB (European Central Bank). $1.6 billion is due today, June 30, and $20 billion is due on July 20. Greece is unable to pay because they don’t have money. These 3 organizations are willing to help out Greece on certain conditions. The Government of Greece does not want to accept those conditions. Therefore, the Prime Minister has told that he will ask the people to vote whether to accept those conditions or not. That is called “Referendum”. The referendum is to take place on July 5.

The European Commission President is asking the people of Greece to vote “yes” for that referendum.

  4. Your quote is interesting. I had read that the banks in Greece are closed and people were waiting outside them. Interesting to know that the President is taking people's opinion into consideration!

    1. Thanks for your comments Sandhya. Yes, it is nice of the Greek Prime Minister to ask the people's opinion. At the same time, it is easy to conduct a referendum in Greece because their total population is only 11 million, the size of Uttarakhand, an Indian State.
