You all might have read that an Air India pilot refused to fly the plane without his favorite female co-pilot. Nothing wrong with that. She must be doing an amazing job at the cockpit. At least, she will keep the pilot awake.
Since I have nothing else to do, I was wondering other professionals also can demand their favorite person for doing their jobs. Here are a few:
Surgeon refused to do the surgery without his favorite female nurse.
Principal refused to open the school without his favorite female teacher.
Restaurant waiter refused to serve the customer without his favorite female cleaner.
Minister refused to attend the Assembly without his favorite female MLA.
Bus driver refused to drive the bus without his favorite female conductor.
Temple pujari refused to perform the puja without his favorite female devotee.
Classical singer refused to perform without his favorite female violinist.
General refused to give command to his troops without his favorite female aide-de-camp.
Sales manager refused to sell anything in the store without his favorite sales girl.
Female dancer refused to perform without her favorite male accompanist.
Female news reporter refused to cover the news without her favorite cameraman.
Female anchor person refused to give the news without her favorite male partner.
If you can think of something, please let me know. I will add to the above list.
I wonder if there is any punishment or suspension for refusing to do one's duty on such a silly premise. For the pilot, I mean. Wonder when he is going to grow up!

Thanks for your comments Rajesh. If the newspaper reports are correct, the pilot resigned last week and he is now on his two-week notice period.
DeleteThe pilot is so naive! But atleast it is a co-pilot he is asking for and not airhostess.
ReplyDeleteI can think of one- wall E refused to dump waste without the presence of his dear Eva :)
Thanks for your comments Roh. Long time no see. He did not ask for airhostess because there is no privacy. But there is a lot of privacy in the cockpit.
DeleteYour example is a good one.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.
ReplyDeleteOn many occasions I’ve REFUSED to do my job unless my favorite intern shows up, sits on my lap, and we discuss the first thing that “pops up.”
Regards,
William Jefferson Clinton
Thanks for your comments President Clinton. I am sorry to say you are getting old and forget things. Your intern did not sit on your lap.
DeleteInteresting list. But can't digest the Pilot's action or others'! Treat it as a joke. He resigned for this frivolous reason? Height of silliness!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sandhya. Last week he gave two week notice and resigned. This drama he created was during this two week notice period.
DeleteKeeping an employee after him/her giving notice is very bad. If any of my employees gives notice (say one month), I will immediately give him/her one month salary and escort him/her out of the building. Who knows what kind of damage that employee can do during the notice period!
You are right, SG! We should not keep hostile employees.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sandhya. Agree with you.
DeleteVery interesting theory! Can we say, we are not going to blog unless people promise to comment on our blogs. Funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Rama. That's a good one.
DeleteInteresting. Pilot refusing to fly the plane for such a stupid reason. haha.
ReplyDeleteWish i knew we could do something like this, i would have insisted i will stay in school only if my mom stayed with me all day ;)
ReplyDeleteGood one SG
Thanks for your comments Dee. I do agree with you for a while only. After you finish elementary school and go to high school, you may not want your mommy around anywhere near the school.
DeleteMr. Death refuses to take people without his favorite female Reaper.
ReplyDeleteHa i like this one...
DeleteThanks for your commens Dean. And welcome to my blog. That's a good one.
DeleteDean, please visit here as often as possible. Thanks.
haha that looks like giving your child a candy so s/he is motivated to go to school without crying!
ReplyDeleteI loved the comment of Dean above :D :D
Thanks for your comments Shesha. Your analogy is correct. So give him the lady copilot he wants and he will operate the plane without crying. HahaHa.
DeleteThe water filter in our office was not working since a few days. (Our office is one room in a building, and most of the offices in the building are rented by our organisation). On repeated requests to the admin office (another office in same building), I had to give an ultimatum that work will stop if this issue is not handled by the next Monday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Karunesh. No long time no see. What happened? Your ultimatum is very effective. I would have done the same thing.
DeleteI cant believe that a pilot actually refused to fly! Amazing weirdos! :P
ReplyDeleteIs it a practice to have a female as favourite? If it is a male as a favourite companion won't the duty go smooth?(Of course gays are there). Nice topic.
