Passengers on a Delta flight were treated to live entertainment, when a man in love managed to convince the pilot to pop the question for him.
When she went to the airport to pick up her boyfriend, a Navy Officer returning from a tour of duty, she didn't expect to leave with so much baggage. Her future husband was the last to come of the plane. But every other passenger greeted her as they exited, with a bouquet of roses.
Forget flowers. Say it with dolphins. For their four-year anniversary the couple treated themselves to a day with the good-natured mammals. This surprise proposal was sweet in part because it really was a surprise. Also, dolphins kiss.
Paul McCartney concert in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In the audience, a man proposed to his girl friend. Paul saw that. He immediately sang the famous Beatles’ romantic song “My Love” to the delight of the couple. How many music personalities in this world would do such a thing impromptu.

Good to see romance isn't dead.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's awesome! Thank you SG! Now, how did you capture Mrs.SG's heart?
ReplyDeleteReaders: Don't you want to know? Say "Yes"! Say "Yes"

aww the Airport one was the cutest. and the dolphins too :)
ReplyDelete@NRIGirl, I say yes :D
Thanks for your comments Tracy. Yes, Romance is not dead.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments NRIGirl. Now you have put me in a spot. I am a very private person. However, since you asked I have to tell you.
ReplyDeleteLG (Mrs. SG) is very very beautiful. While in college, she was tired of everyone constantly praising her how beautiful she is. When I met her the first time, even though I noticed her beauty, I did not mention anything about it. I even behaved a little bit arrogantly. And, that captured her heart. That was a long time ago.
Thanks for your comments Shruthi. I liked the airport one too.
ReplyDeletenice videos..you used the perfect trick to win LGs heart..love is beyond the praises and physical beauty :)
ReplyDeleteNice to see mushy romance. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Neha. She loved the fact (later told me) that I was the first guy who did not "jollu" (a crude Tamil word for staring at a person).
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Insignia. I am glad you liked these videos.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the proposal may be romantic but it's the marriage part that SUCKS!
ReplyDeleteAll of these fake ass proposals just end up in divorce and/or infidelity.
So what's the point if the proposal is romantic and done on land, air, or SEA...when eventually it's SEE you in court.
Who really wants to spend the rest of their lives married to 1 person...whom you'll grow to dislike??
And at that point you only have 2 choices - either continue the miserable marriage and suffer forever...or get divorced and party like a rock star!!
You know what I say.
Party like a Rock Star
Live like a Movie Star
Bang like a Porn Star
Baby, I'm a Super Star
Regards,
Zsa Zsa Gabor (representing the ladies)
Larry King (representing the gentlemen)
Thanks for your comments Zsa Zsa and Larry.
ReplyDeleteZsa Zsa, I know you married 8 times. Larry, I know you also married 8 times. Just one question. When your first marriage ended in divorce, why didn’t you stop marrying again and party like a rock star.
Some people are born to enjoy. Looks like you both are not.
Thank you @SG for the tidbits on your proposal too.
ReplyDeleteReaders take note: Cool idea for cool guys... girls too I suppose...

OMG!!People actually do these things !!! was reminded of the sequence from Never been kissed where i think Drew Barrymore gets proposed to in a baseball field
ReplyDeleteRomance looks so good there..but i have seen that marriage of non mushy people are more stable and sound, dont know why:)
ReplyDeleteaww.SG this was soo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteawww I love romance a very nice post SG
ReplyDeleteand you are right about the alternative title for my last post
Good post SG, and thanks for sharing your own college romance. Looks like romance is in the air.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments NRIGirl.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Bedazzled. I am glad you remembered this 1999 movie. Know the name of the Director? Raja Gosnell. Unusual first name for an American.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Samvedna. Non mushy people's marriage is more stable? I won't know.

Thanks for your comments Rama. I was just merely replying to a reader's question.
ReplyDeleteawwww loved this post Sg, it can make anyones day!:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sana. I am glad this post made your day.
ReplyDeleteAh, these are very sweet. I think I like the dolphins best, since it was funny and not simply exhibitionist!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I liked hearing about your method to capture Mrs. SG. We women can certainly be quite contrary!
Thanks for your comments Emily. It was not any "pre-planned" method. Just happened that way.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute proposals. such innovative ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Kiran. They are sure innovative ideas.
ReplyDeleteOh my... what a romantic post... Its very expressive... huuummm... simply wow!!
ReplyDeletewow..what a romantic post. Glad to know romance is still in the air.
ReplyDeleteBut why is it that many of them end up in courts? Two of my cousins who married childhood sweethearts after rebelling with parents ended up divorced. I often wonder what takes off the romance from air, for some people once they get married?
The one I liked best is the airport one. Thanks for sharing your winning way. May be I could pass it to my little cousins...
Thanks for your comments Patricia. I am glad you liked this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Stranger. I liked the airport one too.
ReplyDeleteVery novel ways of proposals, I must say. I hope the romance continues through the marriage.
