Photobomb

A photobomb occurs when a person (known or unknown) suddenly appears in the camera view of a picture you are about to take. This sudden interference may be intentional or unintentional but in the end, this “unwanted person” will appear in your photo. It’s somewhat ok if it’s a close friend or relative who photobombs your pic. However when some unknown person comes out of nowhere to show up on your camera…that can really annoy you. Most of the time it’s a “necessary nuisance” in crowded places but sometimes it might end up being comical.

Photobombing has become an internet meme. There are people out there who want to purposely ruin other people’s pics in the name of humor.

Here are some photobombing pics (intentional and unintentional):  All photos: Courtesy - Yahoo.

George Clooney photobombs Steven Spielberg and Jerry Seinfeld. Blondie in the back left is getting a kick out of it.

  6. That dog in the final photo is also making an important statement that if dogs are allowed to compete, they will race past humans without much efforts. Now there is a photo for the evidence!

  13. Thanks for your comments Rajesh. I like your "out of the box" thinking. By the way, (it looks like a dog, but) it is a coyote.

  14. Thanks for your comments Mr. Chowla. Unintentional photobombing will certainly happen in crowded places.

  16. There is some benefit of doubt, or majboori, or knowing-the-victims thing in rest of the photos, but 12 pack is just doing it for the heck of it. From his action, he sure does not look like the girl's granddad or something. Let us just hope he is not a pervert.

  18. Thanks for your comments Karunesh. 3 photobombs are unintentional. George Clooney and the 12 pack grandpa are intentional. At least, George Clooney was photobombing his friends.

  20. I learnt about this word "Photobomb" from my teenage daughter! It is quite funny when you find strangers photobombing without intending to. I also find teens do it deliberately sometimes.. Whatever.. quite funny! All pics were hilarious

  21. About two or three years ago was a fashion in Brazil: the people wanted to appear like "Roberts" in newspapers on television. So, when a reporter was doing a story, someone appeared behind -.- It was so ugly and vulgarity, but fortunately it ended!

  30. I didn't know of this term :D I have photo-bombed a few couples sometimes but yeah, I don't think I would like it if it happened to me :P I had a good laugh viewing some of the pictures you shared :) Thank you!

  31. Thanks for your comments Reshma. Yes, we all want to be the center of attraction. But intentional photobombing to a stranger will piss him/her off.

  33. Yes I know about Photobomb. It can be quite irritating, and if possible such photographs can be deleted, thanks to digital cameras. I think you can do other things too through photoshop, if one is an expert in that line, otherwise if you cannot do anything, then you are just plain stuck with the picture.
Nice topic, and good apt pictures to go with it.

  34. Thanks for the hint! Sometimes is difficult to speak other languages! On my school I study English and Spanish and everytime I change some words. Yesterday my English teacher looked at my blog and she corrected some mistakes!

  35. Thanks for your comments Rama. I think the easier thing to do is to check immediately after the click. If you see a photobomber you can delete immediately.

You are doing fine. Don't worry.

  37. I loved the nature calls photo. Obama or not; who cares when nature calls.

Some of the unintentional photo bombs are so cute; like a pengiun in a pic I remember seeing
