Mother

My wife told me this story and I liked it. I want to share with y’all. You may have heard this story and, if so, please bear with me.

Once upon a time there lived a couple. They always fought and argued. She always complained about his entire family. He asked her what would make her happy so that peace can be maintained in the home. She said “Go to your mom’s home, tear her chest, pull her blood soaked heart, and bring it to me”. He was a wuss.

So, he goes to his mom’s home. Takes a knife, tear her chest, and pulls her blood soaked heart with his bear hand. Leaves the home. Didn’t even look at her.

He was running back to his wife with the heart of his mother. Heart is still dripping blood. There was a small rock on the road. His leg hit the rock. He stumbled and was about to fall down. At that particular moment:

The heart he was carrying in his hand said:

Be careful son. Don’t get hurt.

  2. I have heard this story before but it's ok - the message still touches my heart every time I re-read it :)

Mothers are wonderful :) I feel my mom is the best in the world and I am sure all of us feel that way about our respective mothers :) :)

  3. Wonderful story. They say, it takes someone really brave to be a mother, someone strong to raise a child and someone special to love someone more than herself!! Yes, mothers are like that!!

  5. This is an old story.I read this in Hindi in my school days.
But,even after centuries ,one can't get away from a fact that nothing can replace mother's love and care

  6. That's a very touching story. Yes I guess mother would still be concerned about her child, even if he rips her heart.

  7. I have heard this story too and it must be there in a corner of my heart. But even now, when I read it, I get emotional for a second.

Mother's love for her child will always be there until she dies!

  10. I have heard this story, I think! I think, not all sons and daughter-in-laws are like that... And moms are also not so much 'tyaagi' because they are also human beings, they also have feelings. There are many occasions, when mom's of terrorists have protested their sons against their deeds. There are crime stories of such moms who have killed their own children for the sake of their extramarital affairs!

  13. Mothers would always be mothers, however, a true mother is a person who can feel for others too, irrespective of the fact, that the person may be her daughter in law/ son in law. More often we see mother's feelings have a drastic change, when it is time to show the same love and concern, when it is not their own flesh and blood.
There are very few people who can claim to be good/ perfect mothers.
