Latest Popular Ads

Latest popular advertisements have a few things in common.

They are unique.
They are funny.
They look home made amateur video (to the casual eyes).

Please take a look at the latest Samsung advertisement. It has become very popular. Nothing special. A young kid dancing solo on a mat joined by her teachers, and then the entire town.

Other advertisement that has the same formula is the popular Levi’s “Walk Across America”.

And then this Dodge commercial starring a monkey dressed like daredevil Evel Knieval.

Hope you enjoy these three ads.

  7. Thanks for your comments Raji. I am glad you liked the first one. The advertisement people want to send certain messages but how the viewers take it depend on the individuals. I agree with you.

  8. Thanks for your comments Kiran. I can relate to your comment. These advertisements are meant for the American audience. People here would immediately recognzie and go gaga over Evel Knieval. But no one would recognize if there is an ad featuring Sachin Tendulkar.

  12. I liked the last dodge advert as it seemed more relevant to what they were selling. Hated the first one though as it seemed to go on for a long time and I thought the music was awful. Interesting to see adverts from other parts of the world, thanks for sharing these.

  23. Advertising is not a simple job.It needs lot of imagination and a clear understanding of the psyche.Giving a message in such a short time needs tremendous amount of talent. Some of the best ads I have seen come from India.

  24. I liked the first one... It reminded me of a TED talk...but I have to find the link...I shall send it to you separately...

  25. Interesting how advertising has changed over the years and now its become one of the most competitive and lucrative industries, closely tied up with the dissemination of quick product promotion, information and entertainment. In India, the danger lies when there are fraudulent claims about products and the hidden risks are not even hinted at or given a warning about, leading many people to make fatal mistakes. The laws around advertising in India are still in a nascent stage.

  31. Thanks for your comments Sanand. Advertisement laws need drastic change in India. For example, in USA, a typical one hour TV show can have a maximum of 18 minutes of advertisement and station identification. I have only one Indian channel. In that, it looks as though only 18 minutes of actual show and the rest 42 is ad.
