Romantic Engagement Proposals

Passengers on a Delta flight were treated to live entertainment, when a man in love managed to convince the pilot to pop the question for him.

When she went to the airport to pick up her boyfriend, a Navy Officer returning from a tour of duty, she didn't expect to leave with so much baggage. Her future husband was the last to come of the plane. But every other passenger greeted her as they exited, with a bouquet of roses.

Forget flowers. Say it with dolphins. For their four-year anniversary the couple treated themselves to a day with the good-natured mammals. This surprise proposal was sweet in part because it really was a surprise. Also, dolphins kiss.

Paul McCartney concert in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In the audience, a man proposed to his girl friend. Paul saw that. He immediately sang the famous Beatles’ romantic song “My Love” to the delight of the couple. How many music personalities in this world would do such a thing impromptu.

  4. Thanks for your comments NRIGirl. Now you have put me in a spot. I am a very private person. However, since you asked I have to tell you.

LG (Mrs. SG) is very very beautiful. While in college, she was tired of everyone constantly praising her how beautiful she is. When I met her the first time, even though I noticed her beauty, I did not mention anything about it. I even behaved a little bit arrogantly. And, that captured her heart. That was a long time ago.

  8. Thanks for your comments Neha. She loved the fact (later told me) that I was the first guy who did not "jollu" (a crude Tamil word for staring at a person).

  10. Yeah, the proposal may be romantic but it's the marriage part that SUCKS!
All of these fake ass proposals just end up in divorce and/or infidelity.
So what's the point if the proposal is romantic and done on land, air, or SEA...when eventually it's SEE you in court.

Who really wants to spend the rest of their lives married to 1 person...whom you'll grow to dislike??
And at that point you only have 2 choices - either continue the miserable marriage and suffer forever...or get divorced and party like a rock star!!

    You know what I say.
    Party like a Rock Star
    Live like a Movie Star
    Bang like a Porn Star
    Baby, I'm a Super Star

    Regards,
Zsa Zsa Gabor (representing the ladies)
    Larry King (representing the gentlemen)

  11. Thanks for your comments Zsa Zsa and Larry.

Zsa Zsa, I know you married 8 times. Larry, I know you also married 8 times. Just one question. When your first marriage ended in divorce, why didn’t you stop marrying again and party like a rock star.

Some people are born to enjoy. Looks like you both are not.

  25. Ah, these are very sweet. I think I like the dolphins best, since it was funny and not simply exhibitionist!

Oh, and I liked hearing about your method to capture Mrs. SG. We women can certainly be quite contrary!

  30. wow..what a romantic post. Glad to know romance is still in the air.

But why is it that many of them end up in courts? Two of my cousins who married childhood sweethearts after rebelling with parents ended up divorced. I often wonder what takes off the romance from air, for some people once they get married?

The one I liked best is the airport one. Thanks for sharing your winning way. May be I could pass it to my little cousins...
