Just read the news item that the Air India Flight crew staying at a London Hotel, were caught with filling their lunch boxes with buffet food.
The Hotel alleged that "some AI crew members regularly come down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they fill food items from the buffet, presumably to eat later".
What a way to save their layover allowances.
Recently I had a visitor from India. He came by the Air India 15 hour non stop flight from Delhi to San Francisco. He told me that the drinks cart on a 15 hour flight came only once thru the aisles, and that too just before landing.
What are they doing with those miniature bottles? Hope they use it among their family and friends and not sell them.
We are famous for our 'Indian mentality' world over! I remember my friend who lives there telling me that people buy camera there (they are allowed to keep it with them, check it and if they are not satisfied, can return and take back the money), click pictures, upload and then return them back! Indians mostly do that, she said.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sandhya. They do it all the time.
DeleteThat indeed is pathetic. I have not yet traveled by international Air India flights but with domestic flights they are by far the worst flights in terms of food and service quality...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Shesha. I think they should privatize.
DeleteSuch acts if indulged in bring no credit to either the country or the airline.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Mr. KP. I think they are the laughing stock.
DeleteAir India I travelled once and that's it I am done !

Thanks for your comments Shilpa. Wise decision.
DeleteI am sure the pilots and cabin crew are paid good salaries and allowances. Why still indulge in such miserly behavior?
ReplyDeleteDestination Infinity
Thanks for your comments Rajesh. They make a ton of money. Excellent salary, flying allowance, layover allowance on night stops, generous overtime, etc.
DeleteWhat a shame for the Indians? For a meagre profit people bury their prestige.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Sarala. Yes, it is a shame.
DeleteAir India gives such huge benefits to its employees and they still do it..
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Renu. I know about their huge benefits.
Deleteseriously such a behavior is cheap, outright cheap but sadly it is very common. I have seen people from affluent families going nuts over free food :P
ReplyDeleteoh my God, that is so cheap! Your guess may be right, considering in a 15 hour flight, only once they brought the cart! :O
ReplyDeleteOh!! That's so embarrassing!!
ReplyDeleteSheeeshh !
