Trump Wins Second Term

(Note: I am an independent. I just observe. I am not a Republican or Democrat.)

In May 2017, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III was appointed to launch a probe into charges of collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian contacts. Nearly two years later, his investigation has finally ended. He formally announced the investigation is closing on March 22. The results: No collusion with Russia.

Very sorry to all the Democrats who never wanted to accept Hillary Clinton lost the election. Very sorry to all the organizations like Yahoo News, New York times, Washington Post, CNN, et al. They put all their eggs in one basket…Robert Mueller. They hoped, wished, and wanted Robert Mueller to come out with something against Donald Trump. Their mantra was “Wait for Mueller”. Mueller finally said no dice.

Even now some Democrats want further investigations. However, with Robert Mueller saying “no collusion with Russia” what does the common man (the guy who votes to elect the President) think? The gas station attendant in Atlanta and the factory worker in Detroit think Trump is innocent, whether it’s true or not. Therefore, in my opinion, Trump will easily win a second term in 2020.

Of course, Trump is very unpredictable. He could very well say “I’m not running for a second term”.

  2. I don't know why, but in spite of my absolute ignorance of US politics, I seem to prefer democrats over republicans.

  3. Whether one likes it or not, the result of the probe needs to be accepted though one cannot be very sure about its impact in future election.

  4. I dont follow US politics, just the goof-ups by Trump... his latest being, calling Sundar Pichai as the 'president of Google' and earlier, Tim Apple. :D

    1. Thanks for your comments Shilpa. Yes, Trump does lot of good-ups. But some of them are just deliberate to make fun of the other person.

  5. Yes, Rajan. That was quite an extraordinary announcement of the summary of the Mueller probe report. Even Trump would have been surprised. Just as it was a pleasant surprise for him when he actually won the election.

But, I was not surprised at the way things have turned out. One reason is I recently watched this Netflix series called "Trump: An American Dream". (https://www.netflix.com/title/80206395).

It tracks the career of Trump, from around 1978 when he launched his Manhattan real estate business; the ups and downs in his career as well as in his personal life. It is a must-see, to understand Trump.

Amazing personality... a great survivor, someone who has such confidence in himself that he believes he is always right and cannot lose. Even if the whole world is collapsing around him, he keeps saying everything is fine, and you are just making it all up; and then everything magically turns around for him.

He will surely run in 2020, and he will win. And 2024? Who knows what is in store!

    1. Thanks Pradeep for your excellent comments. As I wrote before, I don't belong to any party and I just observe. I will bet one dollar Trump will not run in 2020. He will call it a day. He will just be a one term undefeated President.

  7. Medias are biased and hence one cannot rely on them. At times some facts glitter hitger-thithet. Trump seems to be true patriot, though he is not labelled so.
