350th Post

This is my 350th post.

I could have written this 350th post two years ago. But I took leave of absence in 2011 and 2012. I wish I had not taken that leave of absence. The reason is the person to whom I want to dedicate this post is not in this world any more. She passed away a few months ago in a freak accident.

She is the love of my life. She was my number one fan and my severe critic. She would give her comments only after I have published any post. She did not even want to read the post before publishing. She said she wanted to be my commenter and not my editor.

I started this blog in June 2009. I got my first award from a fellow blogger and friend, Neha, in September 2009. My wife was so happy as if I have won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. She wanted me to call Neha in India immediately and thank her personally. I told her it is very common to get these awards from fellow bloggers and it is midnight in Mumbai and I do not know the phone number of Neha.

Anyway, this post is dedicated to Lalitha.

May she rest in peace.

  1. I miss her so much.
    I love her so much.
However God missed her more, so he took her back sooner than I would’ve liked.

    Regards,

Yes, those award days were indeed something. Blogging has lost that innocence.

Here's wishing you many more posts.

  12. I read this blog . I don't know you personally but to my knowledge i think you would be of my dads age . Somewhere around 40's . Whenever I see your comments in my blog I feel , someone somewhere another part of the world is commenting for my blog and I have cherished it always . I have read many blogs on loosing someone and I comment on it stating to think of me and I m there . This is the same I would tell you as well . Loosing someone is like getting empty and I know how it feels . However , I wish you stay strong and believe though we have not met I am super proud of you on getting over the loss . Stay healthy . Take care
This message is from someone who lost everybody at the age of 13 , so you can Definitely pass through this !! I pray for your family .

  13. Having a girl child is a blessing and fathers love them more than mothers . I am the eldest out of 3 and I remember my dad praying God for a girl child . People used to tease him it seems saying everybody asks for a son first . And my dad used to say it's a girl equivalent to a son . Even before dying my dad told to a neighbor if something happens to me call my daughter she won't cry , I have brought her up that way , and I did go . Everything that a boy does in a graveyard I did it . So there is so much ... I can keep writing . Stopping it here :)

  21. This post made gave me mixed emotions... On one hand I am happy for your 350th post, for the motivation you got from your friend and the good memories you have about her... On the other, I am sad for the loss... It makes us realise that nothing is permanent and we should stop taking things for granted!

    Keep going!
